Assignment 3 - Convocation's Greeting Card

This is the final outcome of my Greeting Card. The memories of my Diploma's Convocation Day last year. The pile of books described my friends and I, studied hard through 2 and half years to gain our Diploma at Multimedia College. Fully edited by Adobe Photoshop :)

Materials for Assignment 3

Process of creating a greeting card


1st step. the step above shows the size of A3 ( 297mm x 420mm). to make the ruler i click the VIEW at status bar and click on ruler. then im using the line tool to make a middle line to divide it into two side.

2nd step : then i click on the file to open a new pictures. i edited the brightness of both pictures by using Brightness/Contrast so that the pictures would be a bit more outstanding.

3rd step : As you can see above, both of the pictures are using the same steps. I only want the shape of the peoples in the picture for my greeting card. To do that i use a quick selection tool and shift+elliptical marque tool.

Step 4 : To copy and paste my edited pictures into my greeting card, i use the ALT + and drag it. I also use the CTRL + T ( Free Transform ) to resize and reposition it in the greeting card. To make it more astonishing, i also use the blending options. It can be located in the Layer > Layer Style. the blending that i use are drop shadow and outer glow ! Not only that, blur tool are also needed to tidy up the pictures. For Picture 1, i resize using free transform to make it smaller and place it at the bottom of my greeting card and for Picture 2, i make it bigger. Both are being edited by using CTRL + Free Transform.

Step 5 : I use the type tool to write a word in my greeting card. The font that i use for the congratulations quote is Nueva Std and the size is 60 pt.

Step 6 : By browsing the internet. i found this picture. a pile of books. I using the quick selection tool to get the shape of those books.

Step 7 : I drag the books by using ALT + and drag it into my greeting card. I drop the opacity by half so it will be a little transparent :)

Step 8 : The blending options are also use for the books. They are Drop Shadow, Inner Shadow, Inner Glow, Outer Glow and Satin.

Final Step : I want to make half of the background is white and the other is grey. To do that, 1st, i click at View and use the ruler. After that, i use the rectangle tool. Then i use the paint bucket tool to color the background !

3rd and final assignment for Computer Graphic 2

For my final assignment of Computer Graphic 2, i am required to create a greeting card for any celebration. As for me,i have choose a Convocation Greeting Card.
