1st Step: Import the AVG logo. Then by using pen tool which is located at the left sight of the adobe illustrator, i am tracing the logo to get the AVG logo shape. I need to fill the stroke colour so that i can see the line. Now, i get the plain shape of the AVG logo. I've tried using live trace but this is the result : see image below ( It is kind of disappointing because i need to trace the logo manually by using pen tool )

2nd Step : I use the drop down button and choose CMYK Red, Yellow and Blue button to fill the colour.
3rd step : I want to put white line over the red colour shape to make it look like a Malaysia's Flag (Jalur Gemilang), so, i use the 'Rectangle Tool' to create the white line and then copy it to get seven white lines. 
4th step : When I start to arrange the lines, they are not appear over the red shape but at the back. So, I select the lines, right click then choose 'arrange' and click Bring to front. After that, all 7 white box which i have created will be in front of the red shape. By right now, we can see an image of national flag in the logo :)
6th step : As for the star, I click the rectangle tool and hold it for a while then I choose the star tool. Click the artboard once then the star tool box appear. I change the point to 14 points which is represent every states in Malaysia. Then, I choose the Yellow colour for the star and change the opacity to 50% to make the colour a bit transparency.
7th step : I also have redesign the words of "AVG - Anti Virus System" by using type tool and also make a new layer, specifically for font. The font that i choose is Birch Stud and the size is 144.21
You have to clearly describe your making process on how you redesign the AVG logo. Otherwise, you'll not receive marks.
