Process of creating a Festival Calendar

In layer 1, i use an ellipse tool to make a circle. i have tried to use t
he live trace to trace the sample calendar, but the result are so disappointing as i cannot get the circle from the sample calendar. So, as you can see in the picture above, i make the width and height to be 15cm :)

After i create the circle, i copy the circle (by holding control+c) and paste it(by holding control+v) to make another one and by using selection tool, i make the circle a bit smaller.

My 3rd step is to make a numbers. I make a new layer and named it as number. This layer is only for number and text :) so now by using type tool, i ma
ke a number from 1-31 as in August we have 31 days :)

Import the national monument logo, I just want the outer shape from the logo. So, I click 'object' from menu bar, choose 'live trace' , 'make and convert to paint'. The only thing that i need from this logo is the outer shape. So, I select the logo, right click on mouse, choose 'ungroup', then, double click at this logo to make them in 'isolation mode', then select the outer shape and copy but before paste them, double click again to exit from isolation mode.

The outer shape that i traced from the national monument will be put in the middle of the circle.
After that as you can see in the picture,i put some brown color into the monument and make an opacity decreased in around 50%

As for my final step, i search for a round Malaysia flag and found it by using yahoo search engine. I imported it. After that i enlarged the flag by using hold shift + click the picture to fit it in the circle. Then by using Arrange > Send Backward, the flag will be at the back of the national monument.

Now, back to Layer 2 ( Numbers). Put some color to the texts and aligned it so it wont mess up. After that i put the calendar and the logo at the center and the calendar will be in front of the logo :D
