My 8th and final step is to create a curl line. Another layer have been created for this one ( Layer 3 : Happy Birthday Font ). To do the line, i use Arc Tool. The reason i use the Arc Tool is because i want to type a "Happy Birthday" to put it to my birthday card's front page. After i have create the curl line, i use the Type Tool and move the cursor to the curl line till it shows the word "path". The font that i use is Pristina and the size are 60.

Now, for 6th and 7th step, like in 1st step, i click on Object > Live Trace > Make and Convert to Live paint to get the outer shape of the present box :) the link address for the present box can be found in My references for assignment 3 :) After i have get the outer shape, i use the CTRL + c ( copy ) and CTRL + V ( paste ) to make another 2 copies of the present box and coloured it like in the picture above.

And then, for my 4th and 5th step, i use the Rectangle Tool to cover my frontpage of the birthday card. The reason i did that is because i want to change the colour of my birthday card. After that i use Arrange > Bring to back so that the rectangle that i create will be at the back and the cake will be at the front. At first im using fade to black colour, but the colour are too dark so then i change the colour into CMYK brown.

After that, by using Type Tool, i write a short sentences for birthday wish. i also create another layer ( layer 2 : Birthday Wish ) for birthday wish. The font that i choose is Pristina and the size of the word is 70. The link address for the birthday wish can be found in My references for assignment 3 entry.

My 2nd step is to colour the outer shape of the cake that i have traced. Colour that i choose are CMYK Cyan for cake's line, CMYK Yellow for candle's fire and CMYK red for the cake :)

In layer 1, as you can see in the picture above, i used the live trace to trace the cake by clicking on the Object > Live Trace > Make and Convert to live paint because i only want the outer shape of the cake. I also rename the layer 1 to Cake.
