Assignment 2 - E-Wallpaper of FOM OPEN DAY

The outcome of editing using an Adobe Photoshop :) The e-wallpaper of FOM OPEN DAY. I use this pictures because it represents the Faculty Of Management MMU,Cyberjaya and my tagline is Choose Your Future.

and here is the reference for me to make this e-wallpaper.

Process of making E-wallpaper !

My 1st step is by making a new A4 size layer, colour background as a background. I use 'Rectangular Marque Tool' to select the pictures and hold 'Alt' to copy it onto my new background. I also search the internet for the MMU logo and drag it into the new background.

After that, to get the FOM monument, i use the Polygonal Lasso Tool, and click Selection Tool and hold ALT+ drag the picture into my new background. Then, press CTRL T to resize the picture.

Because of the white background of the logo, i have to use the Magic Eraser Tool to erase the white background and then i hold the ALT+ drag the logo to my new background. Press CTRL+T to resize the logo size.

My next step is by making both the pictures to be overlay. i make the copied of both the FOM FAC and FOM BUILDING and change the blending into overlay.

I use Horizontal Type Tool to make the text. The font is Andalus.

To make each layer to be more interesting, i clicked twice to change the layer style. For the FOM BUILDING layer, i added the Drop Shadow and Bevel and Emboss. For FOM FAC layer, i added Drop Shadow, Inner Shadow and Outer Glow and for the text are Drop Shadow and Outer Glow.

Finally, to make the wallpaper to be more outstanding, i added the Inner Glow and Bevel and Emboss

2nd Assignment

This is the final outcome of my assignment 1 Computer Graphic 2 - face design. the male face with a chef hat !

Process of creating a face of male with chef hat :D

My 1st step, as you can see in the picture above, by using a materials provided by Dr. Ken, i used an Elliptical Marquee Tool to create a circle shape for face and after that i dragged it to a new layer. I also renamed the layer to 'face'.

After the face is done, I select the eyes by using the same tool, Elliptical Marquee Tool and dragged it to the new layer and i renamed it to 'eyes'. After that, by holding the "Alt" and the selection tool, i make a copy of eyes and move it to the new layer so now i ll have 2 eye :)

For the eyeballs inside the eyes, i using the Elliptical Marquee Tool, again, and dragged it to the new layer(renamed the layer to "eyeball") and put the eyeball inside the eye. After that, by holding the "ALT" and selection tool, i make a copy of eyeball for another eyes.

The next step is mouth and nose. The tool to perform the task is the Quick Selection Tool, and after that for the mouth, by using Free Transform, i change the size and position of the mouth to fit it into the face.

To make his mustache, i use the Quick Selection Tool, copy and paste it to the new layer. choose Free Transform to change the size. For the other mustache, copy it again and click Edit at menu bar, choose the Transform to flip it horizontal.

By using Quick Selection Tool, I make the ear then move the ear layer below the head layer so the ear will be at the back of the head like the picture above.

As for his chef hat, i use the Quick Selection Tool, copy and paste it to the new layer. And then by using Free Transform, i change the size and position of the chef hat to make it more interesting.

The additional material for this assignment is the hair which i found it at the internet. Again, with the Quick Selection Tool, dragged it into the new layer and put the layer below the chef hat layer so the hair will be inside of the hat :)

A warm introduction :)

Hello and good day to Mr Neo Tse Kian and my fellow classmates :D

Assignment 3 : Birthday Card

This is the final outcome of my assignment 3 :) a Birthday Card that show how we celebrate our birthday in Malaysia.

My 8th and final step is to create a curl line. Another layer have been created for this one ( Layer 3 : Happy Birthday Font ). To do the line, i use Arc Tool. The reason i use the Arc Tool is because i want to type a "Happy Birthday" to put it to my birthday card's front page. After i have create the curl line, i use the Type Tool and move the cursor to the curl line till it shows the word "path". The font that i use is Pristina and the size are 60.

Now, for 6th and 7th step, like in 1st step, i click on Object > Live Trace > Make and Convert to Live paint to get the outer shape of the present box :) the link address for the present box can be found in My references for assignment 3 :) After i have get the outer shape, i use the CTRL + c ( copy ) and CTRL + V ( paste ) to make another 2 copies of the present box and coloured it like in the picture above.

And then, for my 4th and 5th step, i use the Rectangle Tool to cover my frontpage of the birthday card. The reason i did that is because i want to change the colour of my birthday card. After that i use Arrange > Bring to back so that the rectangle that i create will be at the back and the cake will be at the front. At first im using fade to black colour, but the colour are too dark so then i change the colour into CMYK brown.

After that, by using Type Tool, i write a short sentences for birthday wish. i also create another layer ( layer 2 : Birthday Wish ) for birthday wish. The font that i choose is Pristina and the size of the word is 70. The link address for the birthday wish can be found in My references for assignment 3 entry.

My 2nd step is to colour the outer shape of the cake that i have traced. Colour that i choose are CMYK Cyan for cake's line, CMYK Yellow for candle's fire and CMYK red for the cake :)

In layer 1, as you can see in the picture above, i used the live trace to trace the cake by clicking on the Object > Live Trace > Make and Convert to live paint because i only want the outer shape of the cake. I also rename the layer 1 to Cake.

Ideation of my design

National Day is all about our soldiers in the past who fought so hard to gained an independence, to raise our own flag in our own country. This is the reason why i have put a national monument and a national flag in my calendar.

A circle that surrounding the national monument and national flag is an idea that i get from the sample calendar :)

As for the short statement = your sacrifices should not be wasted is a reminder to all of us. Malay, Chinese, Indian and everyone in this country should not forget how hard to achieve this independence and it is now depends to all of us to keep the country in peace.

National Day Calendar

This is the final outcome of my Festival Calendar based on our National Day in Malaysia which is on 31st August

Process of creating a Festival Calendar

In layer 1, i use an ellipse tool to make a circle. i have tried to use t
he live trace to trace the sample calendar, but the result are so disappointing as i cannot get the circle from the sample calendar. So, as you can see in the picture above, i make the width and height to be 15cm :)

After i create the circle, i copy the circle (by holding control+c) and paste it(by holding control+v) to make another one and by using selection tool, i make the circle a bit smaller.

My 3rd step is to make a numbers. I make a new layer and named it as number. This layer is only for number and text :) so now by using type tool, i ma
ke a number from 1-31 as in August we have 31 days :)

Import the national monument logo, I just want the outer shape from the logo. So, I click 'object' from menu bar, choose 'live trace' , 'make and convert to paint'. The only thing that i need from this logo is the outer shape. So, I select the logo, right click on mouse, choose 'ungroup', then, double click at this logo to make them in 'isolation mode', then select the outer shape and copy but before paste them, double click again to exit from isolation mode.

The outer shape that i traced from the national monument will be put in the middle of the circle.
After that as you can see in the picture,i put some brown color into the monument and make an opacity decreased in around 50%

As for my final step, i search for a round Malaysia flag and found it by using yahoo search engine. I imported it. After that i enlarged the flag by using hold shift + click the picture to fit it in the circle. Then by using Arrange > Send Backward, the flag will be at the back of the national monument.

Now, back to Layer 2 ( Numbers). Put some color to the texts and aligned it so it wont mess up. After that i put the calendar and the logo at the center and the calendar will be in front of the logo :D
